Quantum Cryptography

Image
The What Quantum Cryptography is one the latest advancements in Cryptography. This technique involves using the "quantum mechanics" concept of Physics in Cryptography. Quantum Mechanics deals with atomic and sub-atomic particles, and endorses the particle nature of light, which carries packets of energy called Photons. This concept was first postulated by Einstein as The Photo-Electric Effect(for which he received the Nobel Prize in 1921), and later proved by Max Planck and others. The Photo-Electric Effect is the emission of electrons when light (electromagnetic radiation) hits a surface. This concept is implemented in Cryptography to improve security. The key implementation is in Quantum Key Distribution called in short, as QKD. The How QKD is used for sharing secret keys between two parties, by using two bit sequences - Vertical and Horizontal Polarizations, in the form of photons In cryptography, the sender and receiver are usually called Bob and Alice. Let us assume that...

Happiness - Poem by me

Happiness Choose to be glad or choose to be sad It's nowhere else, it's all in your head. When one knows that worrying doesn't take one anywhere, One might as well be happy from somewhere; Count your blessings even when there seem to be none; Hum a tune even if there is no song Sing a song to the humming bird, Take a swim with the Dipper bird. Laugh out loud even if there ain't no joke, I'd rather be odd than be broke. Look at the sky, ain't she lovely? Look at the mirror,  so is she 😍 Find reasons to smile, even if there are not any; Celebrate life even if you don't know why Or do you still think you'd rather cry?

Hope - Poem by me

Hope River Saraswati or so they call me I think I begin from the mountains: Running Through the ups and downs of the land I wish to one day reach the sea The distance is far, the path runs ruthlessly Children play on my banks joyously People quench their thirst and bathe on me Oh, they've made me way too slimy I go on a rollercoaster ride;  a rise and then I steeply fall; as Little streams join me on the way - for we all Wish to one day reach the sea The more the creeks that merge with me, The more powerful I become We all dream a singular dream That we may one day reach the sea. New tributaries bring in new stories  That we exchange so many The more the merrier, and now, we know That we will together one day reach the sea Sometimes we make the wrong turn Someone says left, another says right A third said straight, another, "Go back" Oh at this rate, will we ever reach the sea? We suddenly hear a savage noise From someone more ferocious than us We begin to celebrate for n...

Book - Poem by me

A book was lying all by herself, the title so inviting; The cover so flashy and bright, and as gay as the morning sunlight Is she a story of love and happiness? or does she embody suffering and pain? I believe a book is a girl's best friend. Now, I  know why both of us are alone and abandoned. We were meant for one another,  but then who in the world are you? Are you of this planet or another?    With a galaxy and a meteor or two? Do you relate to hunger and suffering?   Or have stories of abundance and wasting? What treasures do you hide within you? Is the knowledge contemporary or ancient? Of green pastures and velvet grass. Or platinum, gold, Silver and brass?  I cannot wait to lay my hands On this bundle of beauty lying by herself You are my soulmate and there is no other, Who will stay beside me through any weather.

2001: A Space Odyssey

2001: A Space Odyssey by Arthur C. Clarke My rating: 5 of 5 stars First of all - Thanks to my buddy for picking this book. I am pretty sure I would have otherwise returned this book without reading Wow. Amazing. Astounding. Brilliant. I am completely lost for words. This is the absolute experience one expects to travel through while reading a science-fiction. Thanks to Arthur Clarke, for taking me through an amazing ride through space-time. Though a few pages in middle made the reading a little tough, when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. The finish, amply made up for the sloppy middle. But no, as the pages sped by, and as I traveled through the Star Gate into the Grand Central, I almost felt like God Himself. Oh yes, the feeling is simply beyond anything that can be expressed in words. If this wasn't breath-taking enough, what can one say of the ending. Spell-binding? Dumbstruck? Oh. anything. Absolutely anything. Half way through the book, I was pretty confident th...

India After Gandhi

India After Gandhi: The History of the World's Largest Democracy by Ramachandra Guha My rating: 4 of 5 stars Well, that was a painstaking read, but completely worth the effort. The book copiously fills the unforgivable lacunae created in our history text books by the most respectable Indian governments of yesteryear's, today, and the days to come. Though, in the beginning, I felt the author was simply hero-worshiping Jawaharlal Nehru, only further into the book did I actually realize the greatness of Nehru. Well, may be he is truly worthy ofhero-worship. This one, by Nehru, particularly impressed me: ‘I do not seem to remember men being reminded in the same manner of Ramachandra and Satyavan, and urged to behave like them. It is only the women who have to behave like Sita and Savitri; the men may behave as they like.’ And a few more interesting quotes from the book: ‘Forget the dead, count the votes, said Rustomji in a withering but not in accurate characterization of the p...
